About Me

I am Michelle Roper-Shaw, recipe collecting obsessive and jam maker.  For me, nothing beats spending the day in the kitchen making pots of preserves for family and friends.

Over the past few years  I ran Glenroyd Organics creating homemade jams, chutneys, marmalades and relishes from my home kitchen in South Yorkshire.  Selling mainly to independent farm shops, delis and online, our products were also sold by Abel and Cole, Virginia Hayward and Le Pain Quotidien.

We had success in the Soil Association Organic Food awards with our 3 Fruit Marmalade being Highly Commended in 2010 and our Spiced Pear and Ginger Chutney in 2009.

After making the difficult decision to close Glenroyd Organics at the end of 2010, I now occasionally teach preserve and pickling courses at the School of Artisan Food at Welbeck, Nottinghamshire to enthusiastic budding jam makers who I hope go on to enjoy the joys of homemade preserves as much as I do.
